Fievre global/ Global Fevering -- II
Global Fevering II
The sun sets,
Eternal, burning,
While the air
Has changed.
Dusty --beautifully so (once)--
It is now
Dusted
With dust.

Fievre global/ Global Fevering - I
Global Fevering 1
The red-faced
Whities --
The terrible Powers --
Are, are, R us;
Let's be honest:
We drive the same
Gas-generators,
Snuggle in the same
Furnace-toasted
Homes.
We project onto Harps, Trumps, F-F-Fohrds
Beams of Yuppie Hate...
But we are (are, are, R),
If not the same,
Then -- planet-wise --
Too late.
Émile Nelligan - Poésie/ poetry
Émile Nelligan, from a good website of Québécois poetry
Soir d’hiver
Ah ! comme la neige a neigé !
Ma vitre est un jardin de givre.
Ah ! comme la neige a neigé !
Qu’est-ce que le spasme de vivre
À la douleur, que j’ai, que j’ai !
Tous les étangs gisent gelés,
Mon âme est noire : Où vis-je ? où vais-je ?
Tous ses espoirs gisent gelés :
Je suis la nouvelle Norvège
D’où les blonds ciels s’en sont allés.
Pleurez, oiseaux de février,
Au sinistre frisson des choses,
Pleurez, oiseaux de février,
Pleurez mes pleurs, pleurez mes roses,
Aux branches du genévrier.
Ah ! comme la neige a neigé !
Ma vitre est un jardin de givre.
Ah ! comme la neige a neigé !
Qu’est-ce que le spasme de vivre
À tout l’ennui que j’ai, que j’ai !….

Car trip, 1974
The sun (which is fun)
Has a sort of taken-for-granted quality
To the young;
Its rays--
Hot, prickling--
Are for outside
During a stop.
Nature , alone,
Bores ...
No kid *really* likes pure sky, pure lake, pure grass.
It's the inner sun,
The joking around,
That makes all that
Raw world
Into something
Well-remembered
And...
And... (ultimate fate)...
Done.

Leaf Lessons IV
Forest '67
Remember
That bliss
Seems only a moment
Of melt,
But returns
And is ...
Plentiful?
There's a pain here--
It's the time you remember,
Time's arrow
Worse than a bullet
Softer than a pillow.
We played in the
Tangles of paradise;
We learned to love nature
Here.
We ...
We ...
Were a we,
And existed with the permanence
Of things that
Leave.
